Track Hurricanes Using Online Mapping
Google has coordinated several mapping resources on its Web page to “enable all Americans to keep up-to-date” on the progress of hurricanes. A very useful map resource on the page is listed as “Atlantic Ocean—Hurricane Path Tracking and Storm Status Information.” Clicking on the link accesses this site:
http://stormadvisory.org/map/atlantic.
Users can click on the plus sign by the name of the storm or multiple storms to see the possible path near the United States. All the storms of 2008 can also be tracked, showing the status as a tropical depression, tropical storm, and the level of hurricane each storm reaches.
